Thursday 18th August the Southport flower show
Opener will be David Dickinson. David
will be opening the show from the bandstand at
10.00 am and holding an audience with the pubic
during the morning and afternoon.

Previous Southport flower show opener
Special celebrity guest in 2004 was Jennie Bond
who was the BBC's Royal Correspondent for fourteen
years. From 1989 to 2003 she covered all the major
stories involving the Royal Family and has accompanied
them on Royal Tours to most parts of the world.
Jennie has written two books: ‘Reporting
Royalty’ was published in September 2001
and Jubilee Year (2003) saw the publication of
‘Elizabeth, 50 Glorious Years’ –
a commemoration of the Queen’s reign. In
February 2004 Jennie was runner-up ‘Queen
of the Jungle’ in ITV1’s "I’m
A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here" and she was
one of the main presenters of this year’s
live lunchtime coverage of the Chelsea Flower
Show on BBC1. Later in the year Jennie will be
seen on Channel Five when she will be presenting
a series of 3 one-hour documentaries on the Royal
Family, sharing her unique experiences as a Royal
correspondent. Jennie appears regularly on a wide
range of television programmes including Channel
4’s ‘Countdown’, BBC’s
‘Call My Bluff’ and is also a regular
contributor to LBC 97.3FM.
The
2005 Southport flower show
The UK's largest independent flower show is packed
full of spectacular exhibits and inspirational
gardens whose designs will incorporate the theme,
"The World of Travel" for 2005. Specialist
nurseries, gardening gadgets, accessories, and
garden sculptures offer everything you need to
add style and comfort to outdoor living. Rediscover
the art of enjoyable shopping in the Rural Crafts
pavilion where you are sure to find that special
gift, and for the gourmet, two food halls offering
foods from near and far and cookery demonstrations
by celebrity chefs..
Parking
and tickets for the Southport flower show
There is ample parking for visitors to the show,
including a special Park and Ride with a free
bus service to and from the Show, as well as special
combined travel and show tickets available with
Merseytravel and Arriva. Tickets can be bought
in advance of the show offering up to 25% discount
to the gate price. Children under 16 are admitted
FREE when accompanied by a paying adult. There
is also a children's creche for 2-8 year olds.
